Light and render second year project



This scene we where given to set up lights and to render with a timelapse animation. I wanted to get the impression of early afternoon til evening in an abandoned house interior, and modeled the broken glass in the windows and the wood that covers the window frames. Also, I modeled the cover for the caoch and uvmapped it to give it a nice antique cloth texture.
I rendered with mental rays global illumination and final gather. To decrease rendertime, I used portal lights to bounce the sunlight from the physical sun, and to lit the interior without using to high final gather accuracy. There was a slight problem with the portal light which gives a fault in the textures around one of the windows. Other than that, I think I captured a nice atmosphere in my scene. Showing here different renders up to the final result.
